Event: 4th Annual Runway Run
Mon, Oct 3, 2016
A partnership between The Lung Association of Nova Scotia and the Halifax International Airport Authority, the 4th Annual Runway Run offers participants the unique opportunity to run on an actual airport runway. Starting from Gateway Facilities ULC, the 5km route is lined with helicopters and airplanes providing runners an exclusive up close look at this secure location.
Teams and individuals work to raise money and awareness for lung health initiatives in Nova Scotia. Each year top fundraisers are eligible for some great prizes including a grand prize trip for two to the 2015 theme country - Scotland.
Runners in kilts, pipe and drum music and highland dancers will help bring the Scottish theme to life for participants and their families.
In addition to being a traditional running event, the Runway Run also provides the perfect conditions for athletes in wheelchairs and welcomes racers of all levels - from beginner to those on the Canadian National Team – to participate. The event is committed to becoming the greatest wheelchair race of its kind in Atlantic Canada.
The 2015 Runway Run will take place on Saturday, October 3. Registration and information can be found online at www.ns.lung.ca
