Event: The Sunrise Film Festival
Sat, Oct 8, 2016 to Tue, Oct 11, 2016
The communities of the Sunrise Trail on the North Shore of Nova Scotia, are hosting an annual international film festival. The first festival will run from October 8th-11th 2015 and during the festival week there will be a range of screenings at venues along the Sunrise Trail. Films will be screened in Fire Halls, libraries, community halls, schools and even a barn! Major venues such as the Tatamagouche Creamery Arts Centre and The deCoste Centre in Pictou will also be used.
During the festival there will be industry panels, workshops and other events - again at different venues along the trail - with plenty going on for film makers and film lovers. The Sunrise Trail offers plenty of opportunity to take a break from the festival, with pretty communities with local shops and restaurants, a winery, luxury spa resort, historic sites, golf, hiking trails, ocean kayak excursions and beautiful natural beaches. The autumn is a great time to see amazing tree colours.
As with most film festivals, events will also take place throughout the year - including professional-led courses in film production held in collaboration with the Da Vinci College.
