Lumière is a free, annual, celebration of the arts taking place on September 24, 25, & 26, 2015. Workshops and community events will take place on September 24th and 25th. The art-at-night event will take place on September 26th, 2015 from 6:57 pm – 11:57pm. Lumière transforms downtown Sydney into a nucleus of creativity, bringing together visual art, performance, music and craft to invigorate our senses and rouse our minds.
Lumière provides a platform for collaboration, cross-pollination and dialogue. Connecting the local population with diverse forms of cultural expression, the organizers of Lumière partner artists with unconventional spaces in downtown Sydney to create a unique cultural experience. Venues are located on Charlotte Street & the Esplanade between Townsend & Amelia Streets. Lumière takes audience engagement to new levels.
?The festival brings art to the public in an accessible, interactive and engaging fashion that underlines the importance of public participation and cultural democracy. Taking art off of the white walls of the gallery, the remoteness of the stage, and out of the studio, Lumière transforms our community for a festive night of cultural immersion.
Lumière is a not-for-profit event organized by the Lumière Arts Festival Association.
