The Butter Trail Run is a volunteer-run community event promoting fitness, family and fun. On the course you will find challenging routes that showcase the beautiful scenery of Tatamagouche and historic Nelson Park. The Butter Trail Run is a 5k, 10k and 1 mile youth run in scenic Tatamagouche, Nova Scotia.
This event is all about having fun and encouraging healthy lifestyles for all ages. The routes start and finish at the North Shore Recreation Centre, 30 Blair Ave, Tatamagouche . All proceeds from the run go the the Recreation Centre to support sport and wellness programming. To date, the event has contributed over $16,000 to the NSRC.
The Butter Trail The east-west portion of the Trans Canada Trail through Colchester County follows the former railway line along the North Shore. The trail section through Tatamagouche is known as the Butter Trail, named after the Tatamagouche Creamery beside the trail. The trail crosses the French River and Waugh River, runs through Nelson Memorial Park, and passes by Patterson Wharf Park. The Tatamagouche Area Trails Association manages this trail on provincial crown property. Uses of this trail include walking & running, cycling, equestrian, cross-country skiing, snowmobiling, ATVing and more.
