Historical talk on the uses and the reason for the plants. The Garden Tour is in the Traditional Acadian Garden on the site of the Musée des Acadiens des Pubnicos.

Aromatic plants border the garden. Vegetables, flowering plants and herbs grew side by side. The plant selection supply food, medicine, flavoring, dye, insect repellant, air refreshers, pain killers and cosmetics. Plants and vegetables in the garden are selected to represent the typical plants and vegetables which the Acadians would have had access to in 1653, after their arrival.

The food would be from the garden, what is in season at the time. In the early weeks you will be able to taste dried apples, gooseberry jams on crackers, chives as décor. Later we will have a taste of carrots, beets, peas, scarlet runners, beans and eatable flowers.
