Join the chefs and owners of Trout Point Lodge – Vaughan Perret or Charles Leary – for an immersion in all things lobster. Learn a variety of cooking techniques like streaming and grilling, and discover how to properly shuck a lobster and avoid overcooking. You’ll also enjoy a fascinating look at the biology of lobster and learn practical tips like proper methods for storage and transport. You’ll also learn how to prepare local shellfish, like clams and mussels.
Trout Point Lodge has offered culinary classes since 2000. Its Nova Scotia Seafood Cooking School is a Canadian Signature Experience and has garnered recommendations from USA Today, Bon Appetit magazine, and Food & Wine magazine (to name just a few.)
The Lodge is located just inland from Lobster Fishing Area 34 in Southwest Nova Scotia - an area the size of New Jersey (covering 8,500 square miles (21,000 km2). The region accounts for 40% of Canada’s lobster catch. There is no better place in the world to enjoy lobster!
