Candied wild blueberries in a soft maple centre, dipped - twice - in French dark chocolate. We make treats like these and many others, all by hand, in our shop in Wentworth.
We use real maple syrup to make a soft maple fondant and then we add local berries for a Maritime taste/ We use wild blueberries, cranberries, black currants, cherries and candied ginger, and sometimes we add Nova Scotian dark rum.
We did these centres in Belgian or French chocolate, including dark, milk and ivory chocolates. Each centre is dipped twice to ensure a rich, thick coat and them we wrap each one in coloured foil to protect the chocolate and identify the flavour.
You are welcome to visit our shop, sample a few items, and see how hand-dipped chocolates are made. We're open afternoons Monday through Friday, and Saturday morning at the Tatamagouche Farmers' Market. Do call ahead on our toll-free number to be sure we are around.
