Paulette Melanson is a well-known local artist who works in watercolour, acrylic & mixed media. She is influenced by her Acadian background and the South Shore of Nova Scotia. Her studio overlooks St Margaret’s Bay, her source of inspiration and a peaceful environment to create landscape and abstract paintings. Her landscapes are impressionistic and depict scenes of Nova Scotia with a unique use of pigments. Her abstract works can be described as expressive attempting to distract the viewer enough to enter the painting and find a world other than the one they are used to seeing.
You are welcome to meet the artist in her studio while viewing a gallery of her creations. Learn what is involved in her process, what has motivated her to be an artist and why she paints both landscapes and abstracts at the same time.
