Amherst Shore Provincial Park

On the shore of the Northumberland Strait, Amherst Shore Provincial Park offers an attractive woodland setting for camping. Walking, swimming or beachcombing are enjoyable pastimes here. The park’s main hiking trail is 2.5 km (1.5 miles) long and follows Annabelles Brook through the coastal woods out to the unsupervised beach. A walk along the park’s shore reveals distinctive red sandstone cliffs towering 12 metres (40 feet) above the strait.

This park, like our beach parks along this coast, offers some of the warmest saltwater swimming north of the Carolinas.

Nearby: Cumberland County Museum (Amherst), Tidnish Interpretive Center and Tidnish Dock Provincial Park (Tidnish), Northport Beach Provincial Park, and Gulf Shore Provincial Park.

Campground accommodations include: 42 wooded overnight sites (un-serviced).

Park amenities include: showers, flush toilets, disposal station, fire grills, wood, ice, and a playground. Wireless Internet access available at the administration building. This is a Campground Host park. Leashed pets permitted.
